What We Do

The Church of the Advent has a number of active and committed ministries and outreach programs.

The Food Pantry helps feed and clothe needy families and individuals in our community. Serving about 190 households a month, we are the only organization in the community to open its food pantry at night.

The Martha’s, another voluntary group, address parish and community needs. Funds raised from bazaars, yard sales, and other functions are donated to Outreach needs in the Parish and the Diocese.

Contributing to the worship services are acolytes, the choir, lay readers, healing ministers and chalicers. Greeters, ushers, and the Fellowship Committee (coffee hour) are on duty each Sunday. A prayer group with an established prayer chain meets once a week for counseling and Eucharist. Our facility is offered for appropriate community needs. Currently, AA groups meet two evenings a week and on Saturday mornings.

Willing and dependable volunteers often serving in multiple responsibilities are one of Advent's greatest strengths!
