Father Robert (Bob) Gilman

Father Bob Gilman’s vision and mission as a priest, chaplain, educator, counselor and pastor has been to make the personhood of Jesus and His presence and His call as inviting and dynamic as possible in the lives of all the people he has been chosen to serve.

This marvelous adventure for Father Bob began in two parishes in Northern Virginia upon his ordination to the priesthood. From there he was called to the military as a chaplain in the United States Air Force. The bases and parishes Father Bob served extended from Thailand to Greenland, from the Republic of Panama to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, from the US Air Force Academy in Colorado to the NATO peacekeeping mission in Sarajevo as Command Chaplain and senior diplomatic liaison to the religious leaders in the region.

Father Bob has drawn upon his vast experience to lead the Episcopal Church of the Advent as its rector since 2000.
